What are reptiles?
Reptiles are ectothermic vertebrates that regulate body temperature externally using the heat of the sun to warm themselves. They have dry, glandless skin covered with scales and breathe air through lungs. While 80% of reptiles are oviparous (lay eggs), 20% are either viviparous (placental live birth) or ovoviviparous (eggs hatch inside the body then have live birth).
