“Water” You Doing?

Weber’s sailfin lizards can stay underwater for over an hour. They can use their long, flat tail to swim under water. Their genus name means “water lizard.”

Come Sail Away

As their name suggests, Weber’s sailfin lizards have a sail-like fin on their back. The offspring are born without the sail and it develops as they mature. This fin is larger in males than in females.
