What’s in a Name?

Umbrella cockatoos have a crest on top of their head. They will raise this crest when they are excited. This causes their crest to open like an umbrella, giving them their name.

A parrot’s beak is very strong. Umbrella cockatoos will use their beaks to climb, peel fruit, and open nuts. The beak of a parrot is a multipurpose tool.
