What’s in A Name?
Male Taveta golden weavers build intricate nests with different chambers for raising eggs and young. These nests are usually built over water and can fill entire trees. Females select the males that weave the best nests.
Apartment Living
Weavers live in very large groups, or colonies, which is beneficial for predator detection. Weaver nests have been known to fill an entire tree. The nests also have different chambers to them, like apartments, which multiple mated pairs may occupy.
