Biodiversity Hall

Inside the Aviary, you’ll find all kinds of different bird species – and a few animals that aren’t birds.

We have several species of colorful macaw parrots.

Red-Tailed Hawk

The red-tailed hawk is a bird of prey, and like its name suggests, has a red tail.

Great Horned Owl

Great horned owls are heavily built, barrel-shaped birds, and have large heads and broad wings. Their call is a low-pitched but loud ho-ho-hoo hoo hoo.

Porcupines are rodents with a coat of sharp spines, or quills, that defend and camouflage them from predators. Contrary to popular belief, porcupines cannot shoot their quills at predators. However, their quills are barbed at the end. This means they are very hard to dislodge once they have become stuck in the body or face of an animal who has gotten too close.

Reticulated Python

Reticulated pythons are the world's longest snakes and longest reptile. Like all pythons, they are nonvenomous constrictors.
