Australian Walkabout

How many animals do you see walking about in Australia? Join us in finding and learning more about wallabies and lorikeets.

Bennett’s Wallaby

Niabi Zoo’s wallabies live in a free-roaming exhibit; there is no fencing between visitors and animals. In Australia, wallabies have adapted to living close to humans. Wallabies are marsupials, meaning they carry their young in a pouch.

Lorikeets are small to medium-size parrots. Visitors are able to hand-feed these colorful birds on a seasonal basis May through September. Nectar is available for purchase onsite for $2.00 per serving.
